Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Interns.news platform, website, and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
If you are using the Service on behalf of an institution or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms, and "you" refers to both you individually and the entity.
2. Description of Service
Interns.news provides a cloud-based platform for managing internship and clinical placement programs. The Service includes tools for internship listing, application management, placement coordination, timesheet tracking, evaluation management, compliance monitoring, and communication between students, institutions, and employers.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.
- You may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. User Types and Responsibilities
4.1 Institutions
Institutions are responsible for managing their programs, students, and employer relationships within the platform. Institutions agree to use student data only for legitimate educational and placement purposes and to comply with applicable privacy laws including FERPA.
4.2 Students
Students must provide accurate profile information and use the platform in good faith. Students agree to submit honest timesheets, complete evaluations truthfully, and comply with their institution's program requirements.
4.3 Employers
Employers must provide accurate company and listing information. Employers agree to treat interns fairly, provide appropriate supervision, and submit evaluations as required. Employers must not misuse student data obtained through the platform.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content (including fake listings or profiles).
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service.
- Upload malicious code, viruses, or other harmful content.
- Harass, intimidate, or discriminate against other users.
- Use student data for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to internship placement.
- Circumvent or disable any security features of the Service.
- Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, code, documentation, and branding, is owned by Interns.news and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our written permission.
Content you upload to the Service (such as resumes, listings, or evaluations) remains your property. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display it as necessary to provide the Service.
7. Subscriptions and Payment
- Institutional subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected.
- Prices may change with 30 days advance notice.
- Payments are non-refundable except as required by law or at our discretion.
- We may suspend access for overdue payments after reasonable notice.
- The free Starter plan may be discontinued or modified at any time with notice.
8. Data Ownership and Portability
Your data belongs to you. Upon request, we will provide an export of your data in a standard machine-readable format. Upon account termination, we will retain your data for a reasonable period (typically 90 days) to allow for export, after which it will be permanently deleted.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, hardware failures, or force majeure events.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not guarantee the quality, suitability, or outcome of any internship placement facilitated through the platform. Interns.news is a management tool and does not serve as an employer, staffing agency, or educational institution.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, INTERNS.NEWS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Interns.news and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. You may close your account through the settings page or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or for any reason with reasonable notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 10, 11, 12, and 15 survive termination.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on the Service at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
16. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Interns.news.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights at any time.
